about
And My Body was a consequence of a violent experience I had. I have experienced hate combined with violence where my sexuality was invovled, and I am not a person who seeks conflict often. This song was an attempt to write a song which could help me channel my anger away from the tension that was created from this experience. To make lyrics that play with my worldview; to try to accept a flawed world where things like this happens. It makes me feel less powerless.
lyrics
My priest he told me that resonance
Is in a state of some wakefulness
I saw violence in springtime
Now it is nowhere to be found
I see the chestnuts as devotees
They wave their hair so that you can breathe
I see concrete flow down
All while the sun touches my cheek
And my body
And my body
It slowly embodies a better body
My heart is eased with a coffee stream
Salute the ones who have dreamt a dream
Meritocracy is
All but a dream a very good dream
And my body
And my body
It slowly embodies a better body
