about
I think I wrote this song to myself and sing unconsciously to myself. 12 years ago when I wrote this song, I was not aware that I was gay, and out of fear I weren't honest about it. But I think I felt something was missing in my life. The song is queer because I wrote it, but its meaning can be widened to apply to any number of people battling to reconsile peoples expectations of them and the urge to become who they are.
lyrics
Oh your bohemian dance
Is so concise and oh so clear
That you are here
And oh, play that record for me
I can hear that your folks have heard those tunes
And I’ll too
And it seems like they’re holding you back
So it seems like you’re stuck in your act
But I know you don’t feel like that
And oh I see your shyness is gone
You’re jumping and screaming all for me
All for me
But it seems like they’re holding you back
So it seems like you’re stuck in your act
But I know you don’t feel like that
